Hi! I am Lisa AKA Kat. On January 25, 2005 Me and 2 people I dearly loved were hit by a drunk driver. I am the only survivor. I lost my 2 best friends that day and somewhere a mother lost her son. It was 9:26 am and we were on our way to MY doctors appointment. I don't remember much of the accident it's self. I remember I was looking for a song on the CD we were listening to,  then there was nothing. When I came too I heard someone asking if anyone was alive. It took every fiber of my being to squeek. Apparently it took the jaws of life to get me out of the car and the engine was on my left leg. I remember not being able to feel my leg and trying to tell anyone that my friends were in there too. Only no words were actualy leaving my lips everything I was saying was in my head. I can remember hearing the helicopter counting down the minutes until we arrived at the hospital. I remember the feeling of the scissors as the EMT cut my clothing. I can even remember hearing the fear in the EMT's voice as she told me to just stay with her and keep breathing. Then.....nothing.....just darkness. Next thing I remember I was in the hospital with no clue why I was there or what happened. I was convinced that my friends were ok and I had gotten the worst of it. I will never forget the feeling when my parents told me that the girls didn't make it and neither did the guy that hit us. My recovery could be a long story all it's own. It has been almost 16 years and I can honestly say that day changed my life forever.  I have enough metal in my body I could be a robot, I have a brain injury and will never be the same. The scars on my body are a permanent reminder of what happened that morning.  The nightmares and memories still haunt me although not as often as they used to. I have seizures because of the mental and emotional trauma and I will never be able  to drive.
